Body waxing is a way to remove unwanted hair from different parts of the body. Waxing is also a form of deep exfoliation for the skin.
This type of physical exfoliation removes dead skin cells from the top layer of skin to promote collagen production and is not commonly irritating to the skin.
When done correctly, waxing is less likely to cause an unwanted rash, bumps, or other irritation than using an epilator or shaving.
The most common areas include the arms, legs, underarms, bikini line, face, stomach, back, chest, etc.
Waxing is sometimes a better option than laser hair removal if the hair is blonde, silver or white as lasers can only detect the colour pigment in the hair follicle.
Sugaring is similar to waxing in that it efficiently removes body hair by extracting it from the follicle. This method of hair removal uses a natural paste created from lemon, water, and sugar. By heating these ingredients until they reach a candy-like consistency, the mixture is then applied directly onto the skin. When compared to wax, this natural sugaring paste is not only more environmentally friendly but also a preferred option for hair removal. Sugaring does not adhere to the skin – only to the hair on the skin, therefore this method is a lot gentler and delicate on the skin compared to wax.
Maintenance sessions are recommended to be scheduled 4-6 weeks apart for optimal hair growth. Booking a sugaring session outside 6 weeks may require more time to complete treatment, depending on the growth of the hair.
A: You can gently exfoliate the area before treatments and ensure that the treated area is dry and clean. Please do not use oils, deodorants, lotions, or sprays in the treated areas prior to treatments.
Avoid wearing tight clothes, direct sunlight, tanning beds and hot tub exposure for 24 hours after treatment
Sugaring will not make your hair grow back thicker or coarser. Most individuals find that their hair grows slower and becomes less in volume.
A sugarist will not initiate treatment on sunburned or irritated skin to prevent further skin irritation.
